John Voket

"Player / coach' John Voket has spent four-plus decades as a creative in media, design, entertainment, management, and philanthropy. Since 2002, he's been a staffer at The Newtown Bee and was named Editor in July 2021. As a broadcaster, he is a three-time CT Agricultural Journalist of the Year — and has been honored for reporting on mental health, addiction, consumer affairs, and domestic violence. As Director of Public Affairs for Connoisseur Media, Voket is in his 30th year producing and podcasting the award-winning 'For the People'. For the New England Newspaper and Press Association (NENPA), he has served on the board and advanced to President in 2018. He is recognized as a "distinguished judge" for the New England Better Newspaper Competition and judges for several state press associations. He currently serves as secretary supporting the nonprofit New Haven Center for the Performing Arts, and the Journalism Education Foundation of New England.
